Moon Hill Pictures
is the creative home of award-winning actor-turned-filmmaker Catherine Cobb Ryan. The company is rooted in a love of storytelling that brings overlooked experiences to light—particularly stories centered on women, children, and the quiet resilience of everyday people.

As a mother of four and longtime caregiver, Catherine draws from lived experience to craft character-driven films that are intimate, emotionally resonant, and deeply human. Her work explores themes of motherhood, memory, survival, and generational connection—not to dwell in hardship, but to raise questions and illuminate resilience, hope, strength, and the bonds that carry us through.

With a director’s eye for grounded performances and poetic visuals, Moon Hill Pictures creates films that invite audiences to step into someone else’s shoes—and perhaps leave asking, what can I do?

Moon Hill Pictures comes from Catherine’s childhood home, which stood atop a hill marked by a handcrafted iron sign hanging from a large oak tree. The sign was stolen several times over the years—but the name, and the sense of imagination and wonder it inspired, endure.
